Wanted Terror Suspect Arrested In Nyeri, Found With Heroin Sachets, Bhang And Machetes

On Wednesday, the police in Nyeri County successfully captured a notorious suspect, Peter Ndiritu Ndirangu, also known as Kimaitho, aged 35, who had been on the run for his involvement in a string of violent crimes including robberies, drug peddling, muggings, and phone snatching.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) disclosed that following a tip-off from vigilant residents, Kimaitho was apprehended from his hideout in the Weitemere area.

Upon searching him, the police found him in possession of 12 sachets of heroin, 9 rolls of bhang, a machete, and two kitchen knives, indicating his involvement in illicit activities beyond mere theft.

Authorities further revealed that despite being released from prison in December 2023, Kimaitho continued his criminal activities, with multiple reports linking him to attacks in various areas including Weitemere, Majengo, Kiawara, and Blue Valley within Nyeri.

Due to his extensive criminal history and the seriousness of the offenses, the DCI announced that Kimaitho has been remanded at King’ong’o prison without the possibility of bail. 

This measure was taken to prevent his potential re-engagement in criminal activities and to ensure the safety of the community.
