Stanley Mutai, the disaster management officer of Bomet County, reported the heartbreaking incident, emphasizing the dire consequences of the tractor’s occupation of the pedestrian space where the girl was walking.
An eyewitness further claimed that the tractor driver was navigating through an area typically considered safe for pedestrians.
The aftermath of the accident caused a significant traffic jam for hours on the Kisii-Narok route, disrupting the flow of vehicles until police intervened to restore order. Meanwhile, the young victim’s body was transported to the mortuary at Kapkatet hospital.
