In a hurry? Here’s a quick summary…
- Former Nairobi Provincial Commissioner Davis Nathan Chelogoi faces a warrant of arrest for failing to appear in court regarding a Ksh.1.35 billion land case, accused of conspiring to defraud businessmen.
- Despite multiple warrants and reminders from the court, Chelogoi’s absence persists, prompting continued legal action while his co-accused has already entered a plea.
The court has once again issued a warrant for the arrest of former Nairobi Provincial Commissioner (PC) Davis Nathan Chelogoi, as he failed to appear in court regarding a Ksh.1.35 billion land case.
Trial Magistrate Dolphin Alego had previously directed Chelogoi to attend court to respond to charges of conspiracy to defraud a businessman.
Last week’s order marked the latest instance of the court demanding Chelogoi’s presence, with Magistrate Alego cautioning that this would be the final warrant issued; failure to comply would result in further legal action and directives.

Despite claims from Chelogoi’s legal representatives that they were unaware of his scheduled court appearance, the prosecution maintains that he conspired to defraud Ashok Rupshi and Hitenkumar Amritlal Raja of a 7.39-hectare parcel of land along Lower Kabete Road.
This marks the fourth extension of the arrest warrant against Chelogoi, while his co-accused has already entered a plea and regularly appears in court. The case is scheduled for a hearing on May 9th of this year.
