Jimmy Wanjigi has expressed strong disapproval of the government’s handling of the ongoing land dispute in Ndabibi, Naivasha, where residents are facing oppression over the ownership of a 5,000-acre plot.
Wanjigi has pledged to support the local community in the land conflict, which has drawn attention due to President William Ruto’s involvement as an interested party.
The controversy revolves around the ownership of the land, which was previously held by Benjamin Kipkulei, an aide to former President Daniel Moi.

However, Wanjigi pointed out that Kipkulei’s claim to the land was invalidated by a court ruling, as he failed to present original documents proving ownership of the land, which had once belonged to the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC).
Wanjigi also criticized the heavy deployment of police officers to safeguard the disputed land, noting that this move contradicts a court order mandating the withdrawal of police pending a hearing and resolution of the case.
He emphasized the importance of the government setting a precedent by respecting court orders, including the removal of police officers from the land.
The Safina Party member revealed that he recently facilitated the release of local residents who had been arrested and charged with allegedly invading the disputed land.
He also announced his intention to travel across the country to raise awareness about the rising cases of land grabbing in regions such as Naivasha, Kilgoris, Marsabit, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta.
MCA Jane Gituku echoed Wanjigi’s concerns, condemning the ongoing mistreatment of local residents who rightfully claim ownership of the land. She praised efforts aimed at returning the land to the community.
Former CAS Zack Kinuthia criticized the government’s deployment of over 500 police officers to protect the land, arguing that the move is unconstitutional and the land was unlawfully allocated to the president.
