In a hurry? Here’s a quick summary…
- Popular car dealer Joseph Kairo Wambui, alias Khalif Kairo, was arrested at Capitol Hill Police Station for allegedly failing to deliver a car despite full payment.
- This is his second arrest in two months, following similar allegations of fraud in December 2024.
Popular car dealer Joseph Kairo Wambui, widely known as Khalif Kairo, has been arrested once more over accusations of defrauding a client. Reports indicate that Kairo failed to deliver a car purchased by a client despite receiving full payment for the vehicle.
Videos obtained by Citizen Digital captured the businessman being detained at Capitol Hill Police Station on Saturday, where a brief scuffle with the officers ensued. In one clip, Kairo is seen pleading with the officers to refrain from harassing him, insisting he needed time to resolve the matter.
“Si vita, you are not going to harass me, you can’t harass me bana! You wait, I sort things out,” Kairo is heard saying in the video. However, the situation escalated when an officer, in a heated exchange, retorted, “…Ebu thubutu! Wacha ujinga bwana! Do you think you are the first person to come here? Unaona niko na clients pale kwa ofisi…sitakuruhusu ulete ujinga hapa. Sisi tunapiga watu. Tutakupiga hapa saa hii tu!”

The arrest reportedly followed Kairo’s inability to convince the complainant that he intended to travel to New York to secure funds and settle the issue.
This marks the second time in just two months that Kairo has faced similar allegations. On December 3, 2024, the car dealer, who also doubles as a social media influencer, was apprehended at a car yard in Ridgeways over claims of failing to deliver a high-end vehicle to another client. He was subsequently grilled at the Kasarani Police Station.
Kairo’s repeated brushes with the law have sparked public interest and raised concerns about fraudulent dealings in the car dealership industry.
