The auctioneer managing the sale of properties belonging to former Kesses MP Swarup Mishra disclosed that the sale is due to a Ksh350 million debt.

Mishra had taken out loans from various banks, which he failed to repay. Four properties were up for auction, and the auctioneer noted they were nearing approval to auction 14 multibillion-shilling properties owned by Mishra.

The auctioneer expects the current properties on sale to cover the initial Ksh350 million debt.

One property is a 350-acre parcel that includes a school and other amenities. In the future, the auctioneer plans to auction Mishra’s hospitals due to his growing debt.

The properties currently being auctioned are located in Uasin Gishu County, specifically in Elgon View-Greenvale Area, Blossom Area, Kiambaa-Kesses Division, and Ngeria Centre.

Interested bidders are encouraged to verify the details of the properties themselves as they are not warranted by the auctioneer or the principals.

To participate in the auction, interested bidders must pay a refundable Ksh100,000 deposit to receive bidding numbers.

Mishra, who served as MP for Kesses from 2017, lost his seat in 2022 to Julius Ruto. He attributed his loss to not joining the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), which secured most seats in the area.
