Ahead of Saturday’s international friendly against England in Wembley, Dorival spoke out, acknowledging the gravity of the situation and expressing his sympathy for the victims and their families.

Despite his personal connection with Robinho, whom he coached at Brazilian club Santos, Dorival emphasized the importance of accountability, stating that if a crime has been proven, the individual must be punished, even if it’s someone he’s had a close relationship with.

While recognizing the challenges of addressing such sensitive issues, Dorival reiterated his primary concern for the victims and their families, offering his support through prayers.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) also condemned the crimes, labeling them as “shameful” and expressing solidarity with the victims.

CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues emphasized the need to combat not just sexual violence but all forms of violence in a society dominated by “machismo”.
