Kuria emphasized that this process is necessary for individuals to access social health benefits.
The CS explained that the move aims to eliminate ghost workers from the government’s wage bill.
By using technology, the government can accurately identify the number of ghost workers on the state payroll.
In his earlier announcement in February, Kuria mentioned the biometric registration without specifying a date. The process will involve recording the biometrics of over 900,000 employees.
“This country is plagued by ghosts in various sectors,” Kuria stated. “We are compensating ghost civil servants, ghost teachers, and ghost students, and providing cash transfers to ghost elderly citizens.”
