Authorities are focusing their attention on Sheila’s 45-year-old husband, Jackson Bamboo, who is being treated as a person of interest in the investigation.
Sheila’s 18-year-old daughter informed the police that she learned of her mother’s death around 1 pm on Wednesday while preparing to serve her lunch. Bamboo had reportedly left silently in the early hours of Wednesday, around 1 am.
The vehicle belonging to the suspect, a Mitsubishi Outlander, was found abandoned in the Kencom area of Nairobi’s CBD.
Investigators believe Bamboo may have switched vehicles before disappearing, with his last signal traced to Narok.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear, with detectives exploring leads suggesting a troubled marriage marked by suspected infidelities.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock, with Sheila’s fans expressing grief on social media, remembering her as vibrant and passionate about Ohangla dance. Both the victim and the suspect operated an entertainment joint in Nairobi’s Umoja area, where Sheila was known for hosting live band performances featuring Ohangla artists.
