Hype Ballo Released on Ksh.500K Cash Bail in DCI Officer’s Murder Case

Allan Ochieng, also known as Hype Ballo, DJ Joe Mfalme’s hypeman and the prime suspect in the murder of DCI officer Felix Kintosi, has been granted release on a Ksh.500,000 bond. 

The Kiambu Law Court, presided over by Lady Justice Dorah Chepkwony, stipulated that he must provide a surety of similar value or opt for a Ksh.500,000 cash bail.

Hype Ballo’s release is contingent upon his attendance at all court sessions and compliance with specific conditions.

Additionally, Hype Ballo is mandated to report to the Kikuyu sub-county DCI office monthly, commencing from the first day of each month until the key witness testifies. 

Moreover, he is required to remain under the supervision of the Kibera area chief until the conclusion of his case. 

The next legal proceedings for this case are scheduled for May 22, 2024, focusing on pre-trial arrangements and setting a hearing date.

In the case, Hype Ballo stands accused of assaulting the DCI officer on March 16, alongside Eric Kariuki Gathua, Simon Wambugu Wanjiru, Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Cheruiyot Rotich, and Agnes Kerubo Mogoiare. Tragically, the DCI officer succumbed to his injuries on March 21, 2024.
