Rita Tinina, a seasoned TV journalist, passed away last Sunday, and her final resting place will be at her family home in Noosupeni Farm Olokirikirai, Narok County, scheduled for Wednesday, March 27. 

Preceding her interment, a requiem mass will be held in her honor at the Holy Family Basilica on Monday, March 25. 

Funeral arrangements are being coordinated, with meetings convened at the All Saint’s Cathedral and the requiem mass slated for 10:00 am at the Holy Family Basilica.

The cortege will depart from Umash Funeral Home Nakuru on March 27 at 7:00 am, heading for the funeral service and burial at Noosupeni Farm Olokirikirai, Narok County, commencing at 10:00 am. 

Rita is survived by her daughter, Mia Malaikah, and partner Robert Nagila. Her obituary fondly remembers her as the cherished daughter of the late Dominic and late Mary Yiapan, the devoted mother of Mia Malaikah, and the loving partner of Robert Nagila. 

Additionally, Rita’s warm presence extended to her grandniece and nephew, Skylar and Shaqiri, touching the lives of many as a niece, cousin, friend, colleague, and journalist.

A postmortem conducted on Tuesday disclosed that severe pneumonia was the cause of Rita’s demise. 

Government pathologist Peter Ndegwa, alongside family pathologist Dr. Michaka, performed the postmortem, with the family expressing contentment with the results and requesting privacy during their time of mourning. 

Rita, who served as an Output Producer for Broadcast platforms at the Nation Media Group, was discovered unresponsive in her Kileleshwa residence on March 17, 2024.
