Kenya Power stated that other areas would have power reconnected gradually, with most parts of the country expected to have electricity back by 6 a.m. on Friday.

The utility company explained that a system disturbance caused by ongoing weather conditions was responsible for the widespread blackout.

They noted that the disturbance occurred around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, leading to disruptions in power supply across most of the country.

Kenya Power apologized for any inconvenience and urged customers to be patient as they worked to restore electricity.

While areas such as Limuru were still waiting for power to be reconnected, Kenya Power assured residents that technicians were working diligently to resolve the issue.

The exact station affected by the disturbance has not yet been revealed, but both Kenya Power and the Kenya Meteorological Department had previously warned of potential power outages due to heavy rains.
