However, some netizens expressed skepticism, noting that similar promises have been made during his presidency with little to show for it nearly two years later.
Others criticized the President for engaging with the wrong audience, arguing that the 96 bishops at State House did not represent the Gen Zs who participated in the #RejectFinanceBill protests or the broader population opposing unpopular government policies.
Additionally, a few questioned the credibility of the church, pointing out that it remained silent even when government actions did not align with the wishes of Kenyans.
They noted that it took the intervention of Gen Zs to successfully oppose the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
