The affected area has been marked as hazardous, with cautionary measures in place. Joseph Gitau, a local resident, recounted how his cousin and three others were overtaken by the landslide while walking along a road. Unfortunately, the soil engulfed them all, leaving a trail of tragedy in its wake.
Another eyewitness, George Kariuki, described the harrowing event where a motorcycle rider was struck by the landslide, while his companion narrowly escaped. Despite frantic efforts to alert others, the force of nature prevailed, resulting in devastating consequences.
Kenya has been grappling with severe weather conditions since late March, leading to widespread flooding and numerous fatalities.
