A Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) tanker exploded in the Pipeline area of Embakasi, Nairobi County, on Monday noon. 

According to reports, one passerby sustained injuries from the explosion and has been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Firefighters promptly arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the fire. Images obtained by Citizen Digital show that both an Embasavva 14-seater matatu and the LPG tanker were burnt to bare metal.

An eyewitness recounted, “The matatu did not have any passengers, only the driver who was moving the vehicle after being stuck. That is when it exploded. Both drivers of the matatu and the truck are unharmed.”
