Man Kills Mother and Chops Her Body Into Pieces in Kirinyaga

In a tragic incident on Thursday night, a 30-year-old man identified as Murimi Maina, hailing from Riakinia village in Ndia Constituency, Kirinyaga County, brutally murdered his 56-year-old mother, Jane Nyambura Maina. 

The altercation between mother and son reportedly arose from a dispute over coffee crops grown on a piece of land.

According to Kirinyaga West Sub-County Police Commander Moses Koskei, the conflict escalated when Nyambura allegedly destroyed 20 coffee plants that Murimi, who works as a butcher, had cultivated on her property. 

The disagreement turned violent when Murimi, fueled by anger, launched a vicious attack on his mother using a machete.

Koskei described the chilling scene, stating that Murimi followed through on his threats to his mother, resulting in her untimely death. The assailant reportedly mutilated her body, leaving it in pieces before fleeing the scene.

Following the gruesome murder, authorities have launched a manhunt for Murimi Maina, who absconded after the attack. 

Meanwhile, the remains of Jane Nyambura Maina have been transferred to Kerugoya Hospital mortuary as investigations into the horrifying incident continue.
