  • Bradley Marongo, an 8-foot-tall man known as ‘Goliath Gen Z,’ has gone viral in Kenya due to his extraordinary height.
  • Despite his fame, he faces daily challenges, like finding clothes and shoes, and works as a tout in Kangemi to support his family.

Bradley Marongo, standing at an impressive 8 feet, is hard to miss.

Known as ‘Goliath Gen Z,’ his towering stature has made him a recognizable figure in Kangemi, where he spends much of his time hustling and hanging out.

Marongo’s unique height has also earned him the nickname ‘Kenyan giant’ online, and he has recently gone viral, leaving many Kenyans in awe.

His fame skyrocketed during the protests against the Finance Bill, where even police officers were seen engaging with him, seemingly taken aback by his height.

Reflecting on his sudden rise to fame, Marongo shared in a recent interview on Citizen TV, “I went viral during the maandamano when someone posted a video of me.

Since then, I’ve become a familiar figure, and I’ve been getting recognition ever since.”

At 27 years old and weighing 120 kilograms, Marongo is accustomed to the attention his height draws, though it wasn’t always easy.

He opened up about the challenges he faces due to his physical appearance, particularly when it comes to finding everyday items like clothes and shoes.

“I do not know of a company that makes my shoe size. I tried to look for one unsuccessfully. That’s why I am always in sandals, which are custom-made. I can’t remember the last time I wore shoes. I do not even have a bed because they do not come in my size,” he explained.

Despite the attention and the challenges, Marongo is just a man trying to make ends meet and support his family.

He works as a tout at a stage terminus in Kangemi and also dabbles in content creation. Surprisingly, neither of his parents share his extraordinary height.

“I work as a tout in Kangemi, and I also create content. I am married with two children, and I enjoy watching basketball, which is why you see me wearing this jersey,” he shared.

With his incredible height, Marongo embodies the term ‘giant,’ and he embraces the title of being the ‘tallest man in Kenya.’
