In another significant development, Marsabit Senator Mohammed Chute has been arrested by officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi confirmed that Chute is being held at Integrity Centre Police Station.
The Senator faces accusations of conflict of interest and is linked to a multimillion-shilling graft in the Marsabit County Government.
