Police officers disclosed the identity of another suspect implicated in the murder of Dagoretti Deputy Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer Felix Kelian Kintosi on Monday, March 25.

Lead prosecutor Fredrick Kosen, representing the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), made this revelation during a hearing application before Kibera Magistrate Margaret Murage.

Kosen confirmed that one of the suspects associated with DJ Joe Mfalme’s crew had evaded arrest during the apprehension and remains at large.

Emphasizing the need for time to obtain CCTV footage from the scene and authenticate the sequence of events, Kosen highlighted the necessity for police officers to meticulously gather evidence.

He also mentioned the importance of collecting statements from relevant witnesses to construct a comprehensive case.

Additionally, he indicated that a mental assessment of the accused would be imperative before furthering the investigations.

Kosen outlined his intention to conduct a mental assessment of the accused at Mama Lucy Hospital and forward the investigation file to the DPP for determination of appropriate charges.

In court, Mfalme, accompanied by three other employees allegedly involved in the altercation, appeared alongside three police officers from Kikuyu Police Station, who were also arraigned.

During the proceedings, DJ Mfalme asserted that he posed no flight risk, citing contractual obligations to perform during the upcoming Easter weekend.

He expressed readiness to collaborate with investigators and petitioned the court for bail.

However, after reviewing the evidence presented, Magistrate Murage ordered the suspects to be remanded in custody for 14 days to facilitate the completion of police investigations.
