Talks of potential political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections have stirred the political landscape, following remarks by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati.
During a homecoming event for Wycliffe Oparanya in Kakamega County on Saturday, Arati hinted at the possibility of ODM supporting President William Ruto in the next election.

This comment has raised eyebrows and sparked speculation about a potential alliance that could reshape the political scene.
The event, which was attended by President Ruto and other high-ranking officials, was marked by calls for unity and cooperation to help Ruto deliver on his promises to Kenyans.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed also took the opportunity to apologize for remarks made during the campaign period, acknowledging the political tensions that had existed between Azimio and Ruto.
Junet praised Ruto’s decision to include ODM leaders in his government, pointing out that figures like Oparanya, Joho, Mbadi, and Wandayi now hold significant positions.
The event also included subtle critiques aimed at those opposed to the broad-based government.
Earlier in the week, during a development tour of Kisii County, Arati had warned Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua against creating divisions, reiterating that ODM is ready to work with Ruto if necessary.
