Fresh details have emerged concerning the demise of NTV journalist Rita Tinina.

According to a report filed at Kileleshwa Police Station, it was revealed that Tinina, aged 46, suffered from epilepsy and had been experiencing a severe fever for five days before her passing.

Tinina was found unconscious in her Kileleshwa residence by her sister, Helen Silau Njaga, who promptly alerted authorities.

Despite efforts by paramedics, Tinina was pronounced dead on the scene. She leaves behind an eight-year-old daughter.

The police have initiated investigations into the incident, with Tinina’s body transferred to Umash Funeral Home.

The journalist’s sudden death has left the media industry mourning her loss, with colleagues and officials paying tribute to her contributions to journalism.

Tinina, who had previously worked at Nation Media Group (NMG) and KTN News, returned to NTV in October 2023, where she served as a senior reporter.
