Two individuals have lost their lives, and two others have been injured as a result of a collision involving two private vehicles in the Rakwaro area along the Rongo-Awendo highway in Migori County.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle carrying the deceased and injured parties was traveling from Awendo towards Rongo when it collided head-on with another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

A police report on the accident, which occurred on Thursday evening, suggests that the driver of the vehicle heading towards Rongo was attempting to overtake a motorcycle when the collision transpired.

Tragically, both deceased individuals, identified as women, lost their lives at the scene, while the two other passengers in the same vehicle suffered severe injuries.

The injured parties were promptly transported to Rongo Sub-county Hospital for initial treatment before being transferred to Migori Referral Hospital for further medical care.
