The tragic incident occurred in the Mcheleni area around 5:00 pm. Neighbors who arrived at the scene quickly rushed the injured woman to Portreitz Hospital.
She was subsequently transferred to Coast General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment.
The suspect, identified as Simon Mumbi, fled the scene following the incident and remains at large.
The woman’s body is currently being held at the Coast General Hospital mortuary as investigations continue.
